UX design is an essential aspect of engaging your user with your business. From button styles to fonts, design philosophy and accessibility play a primary role in the narrative of your digital space.
Let's dig in:
Needs
UX design aims to focus on users throughout the creative process. The term user experience echoes the old mantra of "the customer is always right." Learning what users are looking for in a design (see part one). An important aspect to remember is no matter how exceptional your design may be; you are not the user.
Consistent
Consistency makes the design process more accessible for the design team. Our, or rather your goal, is making it easy for the potential consumer to become familiar with the new product with no additional costs. When designing for your user, familiarity expedites the time it takes to learn your business and the product(s) it has to offer.
Accessibility
Design with accessibility in mind. Take on the responsibility to ensure that the UX design is usable for as many people as possible. Digital accessibility encompasses all disabilities that affect access to the world behind the screen, including:
- auditory
- cognitive
- neurological
- physical
- speech
- visual
Many aspects of accessibility are easy to understand and implement. It is most efficient to incorporate accessibility from the very beginning of projects instead of backtracking.
Simple
For UX, the underlying aim of simplicity is to reduce the operational and cognitive costs of the users. Naturally, the design's usability and consistency improve. Less is more.
Understanding your users' design needs at a deeper level will help you to cater the experience to increase engagement and usability in your digital space.
